Every tertiary institution will have its own crisis or critical incident management plan (CIMP) that will come into effect if there is an incident or event that has the potential to damage the institution’s people, operations, environment and/or reputation. It is important for tertiary educators to take the time to familiarise themselves with the individual Critical Incident Management Plan in place at their at their home institution.
A visual crisis management plan may also be useful for staff as a quick reference guide. The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture, and Information Technology (EAIT) at the University of Queensland has developed an interactive management plan for tutors and professional staff which is available here to view, download in PDF format, and freely adapt for your specific department or institution. If you would like access to the interactive code, please contact us.
